Why is the sunset so captivating?
I have seen thousands over the years, but every one, every single one, I have to stop and admire like it’s my first time of watching it.
Perhaps it is something about the daily routine – the sun and the earth do what they will, irrespective of if we are having a good day, a bad day or the worst day.
Perhaps it is something about the history – I stand where my ancestors stood, hundreds or thousands of years ago, admiring the same sun.
Perhaps it is because as humans, we spend so much time looking inwards that to have our attention dragged outwards, to something so much bigger than us, is something of a short-term relief.
Perhaps it doesn’t matter. Perhaps it is just fine to admire the beauty and be in the moment.
The smallest moments of awe can open the biggest spaces for growth.
